If you love to travel (and I do), I recommend taking a trip. And in today's economy travel deals and discounts can be found. i even asked (and received one) when inquiring about a room rate at hotel reception last week.
Sure, your trip may not be a luxury vacation, but you have time and actually time is the best friend for someone who loves to travel.
So take that trip and enjoy it. You have the rest of your life work....think about when will you have the time again. Not all of us are good at creating that.
