I came across an interesting study recently that links successful interviewing with a firm handshake. Believe it or not the people with the best handshakes, men and women, are more "hireable".
What makes for a firm handshake? According to the researchers, good handshakes involve:
-a firm, complete grip
-eye contact
-vigorous up and down movement.

Maggie, I love this entry. I am a total stickler for a firm handshake and have frequently tested out my clients' paw firmness prior to sending them on interviews.
I have a belief that men who give women a limp hand have little insight into them as people--certainly not a good start in a hiring relationship.
In any case, it's a great thing to focus on as it solidifies the impression you make, and it's something concrete to focus on. Thanks for sharing that.
